BIOGRAPHY AND SHOW CREDITS
From age six Rebecca studied speech and drama privately and, later, also within
the secondary school system in Biloela in Central Queensland. She completed a
BA Degree (Acting) with QUT in 1997.
Some acting roles include parts in the NIDA Director’s Showcase, The Mask of
Night with The Company of Players, As You Like It, at PACT, The Decameron at
The Old Fitzroy and King Lear with Shakespeare Globe Company Australia. Short
film work includes The Storyteller with Louis Nowra, Pleased to Meet You, and
Father's Day for Metro film. Rebecca’s TV appearances include Water Rats and
Home & Away, along with numerous TVCs.
She has written poetry, short stories and for theatre. Her short story, The New
Arrival, was published in There’s So Much More to Life Than Sex & Money
(Penguin). In 2003 she was involved as a writer for Belvoir B Sharp’s 24-Hour
Theatre.
Rebecca performed her one-woman show, Unspoken, at the Old Fitzroy Theatre in
Woolloomooloo in 2005. The script and Rebecca’s performance were awarded at the
2005 Sydney Theatre Awards. She toured Australia with the show in 2006. She
also performed a smaller 2007 tour and recorded the show for ABC Radio
National’s Airplay that same year.
In 2007 she began a Masters in Research (Playwriting) with QUT online. She was
also a part of Hothouse Theatre’s Month in the Country, the AWG Mindframe Stage
and Screen workshop and a MEAA John Bell Masterclass.
Further to acting and playwriting, Rebecca has supplemented her career with
work as a independent audience researcher for TV Networks and producers such as
ABC, Ten and Southern Star, an administrator for Playworks, acting Production
Development and Marketing Manager for the Seymour Centre and, more recently, an
event manager for the Australian Director’s Guild. She also works as a
freelance arts journalist for Arts hub and Screen Hub.
